A look into Tiger Woods’ swing coaches

Tiger Woods and Roger Federer are known to be the GOATs (greatest of all time) of their respective sports.  The two have had quite a run with their coaches, moving from one to another, with some having longer stints than others.  But let’s focus a bit of Woods…

From 1996 to 2003, Tiger Woods had his swing coached by Butch Harmon.  Under the guidance of Harmon, Woods won 8 majors in 24 starts.  All in all, Tiger bagged 34 titles in 127 official starts from turning professional to 2002, which gave him a 26.8 percent win percentage.  Their time together was the longest compared to Tiger’s run with other coaches.

After being coach-less for a year, Tiger teamed up with Hank Haney in 2004.  From their first year to 2010, Tiger won 5 majors in 23 starts and had missed 2 majors (2008 British Open and 2008 PGA).  Tiger won 31 titles in 93 starts, giving him 33.3 percent win percentage.  After parting ways with Haney, Tiger sought swing direction from Sean Foley.  From 2010 to 2014, Tiger won zero majors in 13 starts and had missed 4 majors.  Tiger had 8 PGA Tour titles in 55 starts, giving him a 14.5 percent win percentage.

Recently parting ways, Tiger Woods and Chris Como had a short run from 2013 to 2017.  In the 3 years the two worked together, Tiger had zero wins in 4 starts, missed 8 majors, namely Masters, U.S. Open, The Open, PGA Championship in 2016-2017; and had won zero titles in 15 starts in the PGA Tour.

Football Players Who Could Make The Rounds In Amateur Golf

It’s not uncommon to find athletes who are good at more than two sports, especially when the sports complement each other. However, it is quite rare to find athletes who can be equally as great in two sports.

For today, we’ll take a break from college football and check some NFL stars who have a decent enough golf game to make an impact in amateur golf.

Tom Brady: Golf Digest lists Brady as its 8th greatest athlete golfer. This five-time Super Bowl winner regularly plays at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and is famous for being quite the golfer.

Peyton Manning: One of the best QBs in NFL history, Manning is another football player with a mean swing. He has a 4.0 handicap, which is impressive and has the distinction of being one of Tiger Woods’ pro-am partners. Now that he is retired from pro football, he has all the time to hone his golf skills further.

Aaron Rodgers: A two-time NFL MVP, Rodgers has a 5.5 handicap as per Golf Digest’s rankings, which isn’t bad at all. This Green Bay Packer QB has always been a force on the field, and now, looks to dominate of the fairways, too.

Kentucky Wildcats College Football: A Quick Look At Its Glorious History

The University of Kentucky prides itself on historically prestigious football history, just like its illustrious basketball program and athletics in general. Here are some proud moments in history for the Kentucky Wildcats football team.

Paul “Bear” Bryant: Bryant became a coaching legend during his stint at Texas A&M and after spending decades at Alabama, but he got his first SEC head coaching job at the University of Kentucky back in 1946. He coached at the university through 1953 before leaving for A&M.

Beloved players: Andre’ Woodson is the former Kentucky quarterback who is deemed instrumental in putting Wildcat football back on the map in recent years, as before his emergence the team wasn’t so much a big deal in the SEC East. Randall Cobb was also the perennial “do-it-all” man, working as a wide receiver, return specialist, quarterback, and place kick holder. Myron Pryor is a former defensive tackle who also played memorable games on the defensive side of the ball. Many more players in recent and remote past gave the Cats an impressive history and track record.

No 1943 season: Kentucky has over 120 years of glorious football history, but the cats didn’t compete in 1943 while a number of its players and coaches served in World War II. In fact, some teams throughout Division I missed at least a season during the war for the same reason.

NFL Draft record: This football program can claim having a player taken No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft, something a number of other, more highlighted programs cannot claim for themselves. Former Cats’ quarterback Tim Couch went No. 1 in the 1999 draft after starring at UK from 1996 to 98.

College Football Obsession (Cfo): Signs And Symptoms

Few obsessions in life equate with college football obsession (CFO) in intensity and passion. Here are some signs and symptoms that one’s going through CFO and may have no chance of crawling out of it.

No other sport really matters: When someone asks, “What are your top three sports,” you answer with nothing but these: NFL, NCAA football, and high school football. Nothing else.

Your phone screams college football fan: That phone is filled with sports apps, notifications about every single team every day that your team does, and your wallpaper is either a photo of the stadium or a photo of the mascot. Your camera roll, needless to say, is filled with pictures of those kickass players – or you and your friends at the game.

It’s in every conversation: The waiter asks what you want for lunch. Of course, you answer: “An SEC championship, or a 12-win season, or a date with that cute girl at the game.” It’s all about the game until the waiter shakes you out of your fantasy and dumps the menu on your lap.

Multiple fantasy football league player: There’s a separate league for family, friends, coworkers, and even complete strangers. Everybody does that, right?

College football vacations: You plan your trips and vacations around your favorite team’s schedule, and you’re on your way to the Super Bowl even before the season has even started.

Growing up in Kentucky, he has always rooted for the Wildcats, and now that he’s living in California his preference hasn't changed: he still supports the Kentucky Wildcats, especially when against the Memphis Tigers. The Top Rivalries In College Football

Many storied rivalries have made college football most colorful and most anticipated each coming season. Let’s look at the top and most bitter ones that have existed over the years.

Michigan vs. Ohio State: This rivalry between scarlet and gray and maize and blue has been around for more than a century now. Since 1897, fans have deliriously supported this most iconic of battles. Each meeting between the two is certainly much ado about something and comes with much media hullaballoo.

Army vs. Navy: This patriotism-driven battle of future military officers is one of the most anticipated each season. Yes, even the most promising star players in these duels probably won’t make it to the NFL, but they give their hearts out on the field.

Oklahoma vs. Texas: These teams duke it out in the Red River Rivalry at the Dallas Cotton Bowl, where players go for the golden hat. These two college football giants have 11 national championships between them. Can Texas come back next season after a heartbreaking 29-24 loss last year?

Alabama vs. Auburn: Another intense rivalry is that of the Iron Bowl. The winner of this game has in recent years gone on to the SEC Championship. More importantly, though, Alabama and Auburn play for the National Championship.

USC vs. Notre Dame: The battles between the Trojans and the Fighting Irish have raged for the past 85 years, and this bowl has had more Heisman trophy winners than any other existing rivalry. It doesn’t matter that this is an out-of-conference match; a USC and Notre Dame game is as thrilling as any college football game can get.

Why College Football Is More Fun Than The Nfl

The NFL may be the most popular sport in the U.S., but for many folks, it’s not even the best source of entertainment even for football. They tune in to college football.

While NFL’s TV ratings continue to dwarf college football’s, some of footballs truest fans prefer college football. Here’s why:

Rivalry games are more intense in college football

The rivalry game is one of the most awaited days in college. Rivalries for pro sport teams have nothing in comparison to those for colleges. Just ask a Bears fan if they recall the two games against the Packers in 2013. I doubt they could remember it vividly. Ask a college football fan about their favorite rivalry game, and they’ll light up giving you details of the games that go back decades ago.

Every game is significant

Probably the biggest reason people prefer college football. Regular games matter a lot more for the team or for any other team. College football fans passionately follow games and either be excited and disappointed by the outcome. With the NFL, it’s really not a big deal unless it’s a playoff game.

You don’t need $350 to watch all college football games

You don’t need to break the bank to follow your college football teams. As long as you’re subscribed to sports channels like ESPN, BTN, CBSNSN, etc., you’re good. That will only take about $5.

Hi! I’m Robert Mims. I’m a devoted college fan living in California. I live for college football rivalries, my favorite being the Kentucky Wildcats vs the Memphis Tigers. Follow me on Twitter for more updates.

Golf 101: Fix Your Putting Problems

The game of golf is more physical than people think. Many aspects of the game require a great degree of control, and not so much strength. One of the parts that golfers often practice is their putting game. At first glance, putting may look simple, but it really isn’t. A lot of golfers who have been playing the game for some time now still have problems with it. Here are a few tips to help you fix your putting problems.

Belief

This tip is geared more towards the mental aspect of putting. Like free throws in basketball, the calmer you are, the higher the chance of a well-taken shot. However, if your confidence is severely lacking, you’ll find yourself suffering from nerves. Your hands become less steady and your vision blurs. Be confident. You can make the shot. Believe in yourself.

Raised head

Now while belief in yourself can go a long way, you won’t fully get there if you squander on the basics of the movement. Every sport wherein you have to hit or throw a ball with accuracy and control needs an appropriate follow-through, whether it be golf, baseball, basketball, or billiards. Always practice following through on your shots. And this doesn’t just go for putting, but for swinging as well.
